Cadburys Easter Treats

Here’s a quick glance at all your favourite Cadburys treats if you’re planning on indulging in a nice Easter Chocolate treat this weekend. I hear so many people remarking that Chocolate is too high in points now since the change to Smartpoints last January, Chocolate is in truth basically pure sugar when it comes right down to it, you only need to look at the nutritional values to see that & it is not encouraged in large amounts on any healthy eating plan or lifestyle that I know of – weightwatchers or otherwise. Treats should be just what their name implies – occasional treats, something to look forward to, savour and enjoy rather than daily indulgences if you are looking to change to a healthier, happier lifestyle for life. Yes you can still enjoy your treats & incorporate them where you can, after all it’s all about a healthy balance and enjoying the small joys in life and that’s why educating yourself on the best options available when you do decide on a treat is important too, so you can get the best value for your Smartpoints. Instead of focusing on how much Chocolate has increased in Smartpoints consider how much other items have reduced significantly in Smartpoint values like high protein foods which allows you to save more points for your treats and really appreciate and enjoy them when you do plan to indulge. I know I’m looking forward to my Chocolate fix at the weekend and I will savour every last piece! I hope you find the list useful whatever you choose to have and I hope you have a lovely Easter too. Delicious Chocolatey Rocky Road Rice Krispie Treats

I was baking today, well I use the term ‘baking’ loosely as these are hardly any effort to throw together & fun to make if you happen to have smallies in the house. Marshmallow, Malteser & Chocolate what’s not to love! 4pp a piece makes 9 generous slices.   125g Rice Krispie’s 100g Bag Dr Oetker Milk Chocolate Chunks

2 Funsize Bag Maltesers

60g Mini Marshmallows   Weigh out all the ingredients. Cut the maltesers in half with a sharp knife. Mix together the rice krispie’s, maltesers & 50g of marshmallows (reserve 10g for topping) in a large bowl. Place a pyrex bowl over a saucepan of boiling water ensuring the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Place the chocolate chunks in the bowl & gently stir over a medium heat until fully melted. Pour the chocolate into the krispie mixture & stir in very well to coat all the krispie’s, marshmallows & maltesers, you will need to spend a few minutes stirring it all in as there’s not a whole lot of chocolate but it is enough to coat it all sufficiently. Spray a 9 inch x 9 inch ovenproof dish lightly with oil & pour in the mixture. Press it down well with a wooden spoon. Cover with clingfilm & refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set. Cut into 9 evenly sized treats & enjoy!

1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1 tsp Sweet Freedom Syrup

Pinch of salt

3 tbsps Sweetener

250mls Skimmed Milk

1 Large Egg

1 tsp Vanilla Extract   I froze both the raspberries & chocolate chunks overnight in seperate food bags so they would withstand being in the oven a bit longer. Preheat your fan oven to 180c & spray an 8×8 ovenproof dish with sprayoil. Mix the oats, baking powder, salt & sweetener in a bowl & fold in most of the raspberries & chocolate chunks (reserve a few for the top) In a seperate bowl whisk the milk, egg & vanilla extract. Sprinkle the oat mix into the ovenproof dish in an even layer & drizzle the sweetfreedom syrup over. Pour the egg mix evenly on top covering the oat mix & sprinkle with your remaining raspberries & chocolate. Bake for 45 minutes & enjoy!

Strawberry, Raspberry & Mango Chocolate Cheesecake Dessert Pizza with Fluffy Miniature Marshmallows

I may or may not have just eaten this instead of a proper Dinner, totally disgraceful, I ought to be ashamed of myself but it’s so healthy & low in points I’m not even sorry! Sorry not sorry! The entire dessert pizza comes in at 8pp or just 4pp on F&H if you can even believe it. It serves 2 happy campers so 4pp per person or 2pp on F&H happy days! This one is ultra delicious for sure. You can follow the recipe if you’re inclined to eat pizza for breakfast, dinner & dessert like me!  1 Weightwatchers Tortilla Wrap

50g Lightest Philadelphia Cream Cheese

50g 0% Fat Greek Yogurt

1 tsp Sweetener

2 drops of Vanilla extract

15g of Chocolate Spread

A Couple of Fresh Strawberries, Raspberries & Mango cubed

15g Mini Marshmallows   Fry the wrap in a pan sprayed with sprayoil over a medium heat for a couple of minutes each side until browning, this crisps up the wrap to hold the toppings without being too soft. Allow to cool completely. Meanwhile mix the cream cheese, yogurt, sweetener, chocolate spread & vanilla well in a bowl & refrigerate for a while to cool. Spread the Cheesecake Chocolate mix generously over the wrap base & top with the fruit & marshmallows. Slice & enjoy!

Luxurious Triple Neapolitan Banana, Strawberry & Chocolate Icecream Banana Split with Cream, Chocolate Chips, Chocolate Drizzle, Strawberries & A Cherry on top!

Get your mouth around that one! 5pp on both plans for this Whopper of a Dessert! Made for sharing if you split it (excuse the pun!) at 2.5pp I’d round the points up to 3pp. Yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy!   4 Well Ripe Bananas (the riper the sweeter)

1 Heaped Tsp Chocolate Spread

10g Chocolate Chips

10g Glacé Cherries

20g Light Aerosol Cream

Strawberries

1 Tsp Choc Shot  Slice 3 of the bananas into evenly sized pieces & freeze ina tupperware tub overnight. Place the frozen banana slices into your food processor (you’ll need to do this in 3 batches or it will be too overcrowded in the food processor to work) pulse the bananas, at first they will go crumbley, then kinda gooey, scrape down the sides of the food processor a few times at this stage, keep going it takes longer than you think, you can keep the processer on instead of pulsing at this stage & eventually (you need to be patient it takes a good few minutes) the bananas will miraculously turn into creamy soft serve icecream consistency. Add flavourings here: keep 1 plain, add 2 fresh strawberries to the next batch & a heaped tsp chocolate spread to the last batch. Keep blending each for a few more minutes to aerate the icecream. Scoop into small tupperware tubs & refreeze for a few hours until it solidifies more. You could eat it at this point but it’s quite soft icecream. When ready scoop each of the icecream flavours onto your dish & garnish with another split banana, strawberries, chocolate chips, 1 tsp of choc shot, the cream & cherries & enjoy the well deserved fruits of your labour! Enjoy
